  • Area of medium-sized fields and dispersed farms, some of which are fairly large. Some modern housing here also. There is some deciduous woodland, particularly on the steeper slopes. The most significant archaeological elements are post medieval structures and sites and an Iron Age Fort. A disused railway line, and the modern A478, cross the area from north to south. Settlement mostly limited to a small number of farms, both large and small including some with Listed Buildings. However, there has been some C19th-C20th development along the A478, particularly at Glanpwllafon, and a row of detached dwellings along a minor road at Bryngwyn. Poultry houses and a communications mast are also element of the landscape.
